TLCA Board of Directors approve 2018-2019 School Calendar

TLCA Students will be reporting for school August 15th, as Texas Leadership Charter Academy’s Board of Directors approved the 2018-2019 School Calendar.
In developing the calendar, students' time will be calculated in minutes, and teachers are still under a ten-month contract of 187 calendar days.
School districts and charter schools are required to operate for a minimum of 7950 minutes, including intermissions and recess, according to state mandates.
Highlights from the new calendar include: first day of instruction will be August 15; Students and Staff will have the week of Thanksgiving off November 19-23; Christmas break will be December 21 – January 7 with students returning January 8; spring break will remain aligned with Districts in respective cities, March 11-15; last day of class is May 24, and graduation is set for May 24.
