UPDATE FOR TLCA MIDLAND: March 15th 2020 from the desk of District Superintendent Ron Ledbetter.

March 15th, 2020 (UPDATE)

Dear Midland TLCA Family,

Parents, Students, Staff,

Because of this rapidly changing landscape in dealing with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and with daily communication from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), our Education Service Centers as well as daily updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local/state health departments, we are modifying our original announcement of closure to students for three days to now closing the campus to students for an additional two weeks.

TLCA Midland will close to students through March 27, 2020. If all goes well and these steps accomplish what everyone is hoping, we will resume classes on Monday, March 30, 2020.

We fully understand the burdens caused by closing school and we’re responding in this manner out of an abundance of caution. Please continue to monitor our website at www.texasleadership.net, Blackboard, or Facebook for additional or different news and updates.

As mentioned before, our staff will be busy preparing materials to provide students with instructional/educational options at home. Please look for further guidance possibly later in the week from your campus administration and communication from your child’s teacher(s) once those things are in place.

It is very important during this time that our students take advantage of the review materials, reading opportunities, and options for online enrichment. We will provide more information soon. Please help the students utilize their time at home to catch up, get ahead and continue reviewing materials that will help them continue their success upon return to class. As mentioned before, all athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities are suspended until further notice.

As mentioned before, please follow the guidance from your local health departments and the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/) for you and your children. If you display symptoms as described by the CDC, please seek help from a local health authority and follow their guidance.

Thank you and stay safe,

Ron Ledbetter, Superintendent
